Firstly let me wish you all a very happy and healthy 2015

For the past five days I have been spending much time in closely observing how the latest upgrades to my clear, pump-fed Compact Filter actually performs.

This performance applies to all 2015 Eric Pond Filters either pump-fed or gravity-fed.

Once again, the aims of my Eric Pond Filter systems are –

To provide excellent water quality.

To provide excellent water clarity.

To prevent any new outbreaks of Shimi & Hikui.

To provide a single, stand-alone filter system.

To make periodic cleaning, thorough, quick and simple.

To keep wastewater to a minimum.

To be able to see that all this takes place with our very own eyes.

My clear PVCu units do have great advantages in allowing us all to see exactly what takes place inside the filter – both in normal running and in discharge

However, this does not apply to the smooth internal walls and bases of the polypropylene units where waste cannot possibly adhere.

Recent filter trends today revolve around fully automated systems that can be left unmanned, but as of now these are expensive, electrically-driven

Please be assured that if water can pass through any mechanical stage then so can dust – and dust builds up in the biological stages – please be aware of this.

Eric Filter systems can be fully automated to clean the mechanical stage AND the biological stage at the same time – very easily and very economically.

More on automation later after I’ve prepared another video of this but right now this is what I’ve prepared to show the weekly, brief maintenance I do on my own indoor pond.

Now to show a thorough clean of a Compact Eric Filter.

I suggest this only needs to be carried out around every six to eight weeks?

Again, this is particularly brief and painfully easy – inside clear-view boxes that can’t possibly tell lies!

(The cleaning regime shown is what I’ve found to work best on my own system taking feeding rates, stocking rates and water temperatures into account.

This cleaning regime can vary widely depending on these factors).

Complex Simplicity…………………………. 100% proven!

Waddy.
