Some Koi guys came around earlier today…

Some Koi guys came around earlier today after I’d mentioned I’d like to demo my filter systems to them and a REAL demo can only be witnessed by them with their own eyes.

This revolves around my Eric2.5 filter system.

Shown in both normal running operation and also in clean-out mode.

The pond holds 17,500 gallons and I throw 300-gallons per day to waste.

This takes care of a modest daily water change that only amounts to 1.5% of the pond volume.

The clarity is excellent – even at a depth of 2.35m.

I no longer take water quality readings aside from pH – I leave it to the Koi to let me know if anything is wrong.

To prevent periods of green water I have an 80w submersible U/V in the waterfall header tank.

For this size of pond, running costs are negligible – 3 x 60w air pumps, 1 x 80w U/V, 1 x low energy water pump for the filter and 1 x low energy water pump that picks up water from the surface skimmer and returns it over the waterfall.

Please note – the filter has no other ‘add-ons’ before or after the filter – it is a TRUE ‘stand alone’ unit.

The water and waste discharged goes into a discharge box where a submersible pump sends it rapidly to my main sewer.

I feed well and the Koi are always ready for more food.

I use clear filters because I can easily see just what’s going on inside and so can anyone who comes to see them being demonstrated.

There are no ‘hidden secrets’ to my filter systems as anyone who have seen them or owns one will testify.

Much of it is pure common sense – the horizontal water flow is identical to that of a river and if you start messing around with the natural flow of a river, by pumping it uphill and/or downhill, you are certain to hit problems.

I have timed the clean-out period on this video and it takes just under two minutes in order to get a brand new filter system.

I have been in the business of designing, producing and selling filter systems since 1978.

Would I really be barmy enough to invite anyone over to witness all this in a CLEAR box on a HUGE pond, if I wasn’t absolutely CERTAIN that it’s the best pond filter system that money can buy?

Finally, my E2.5 filter is the clear version of the standard E2.5 that’s fabricated to order in black polypropylene and the price is £1,240.00 + VAT – delivery is extra.

Waddy.
